Pet Portrait Collage: Pickles part 1
This has been an eventful year with my YouTube channel and also my Etsy shop. Now I have begun providing pet portraits in collage on my Etsy shop. This one is of Pickles, the dog of a dear friend. The process is fun because the pieces of paper have to be small and look hair-like. I'm pretty excited about this one.

The Water Mother Collage: a Folktale from China
Just finished another page for my children's book. This has taken so much longer than I thought it would but with 26 letters in the alphabet and each page taking several weeks... it has taken a couple of years.

This one is my introduction to Painting on wrinkled paper. I'm hoping to get more students this year. So far I only have 5 students taking my class.

Coyote and Rabbit Collage for a Children’s Book
The most exciting thing for me is that I now have only 4 pages left to finish for this children's book and I will be ready to publish. I've worked so long on it that I almost despaired that I would ever see the end. Now it is so close I can see the light at the end. Maybe I can start the new year with a newly published book. Cross your fingers, friends. Wish me luck. I may be able to finish in this last month of the year.

Nopales Cactus Collage Part 2
I was worried halfway through this collage thinking it just wasn't working out but then it all started coming together. I think the torn edges really added to the prickly look of the cactus. Don't you think so?

Nopales Collage, Part 1
I love working these collages. This time I chose a cactus to create the collage from. This is just the first part of the process. I'll publish part 2 next week. More to come.

Introduction to Skillshare Collage Class
My first class on Skillshare was officially published 4 days ago but this is the introduction. I'm hoping I can get lots of students by posting on social media. We shall see if I can get a following. This will take time, I'm sure. Doesn't everything?

Idaho Farmhouse Paper Model House
This is one of the easier of the little paper house models. I loved making it though and feel like it would make a great classroom project for little fingers to create.

Michigan Victorian Paper House Model
I loved this little house. It was certainly complicated to put together but so fun and cute when it's done. I think people will love it in my Etsy shop.

Make a little paper Missouri Farmhouse
These little houses, one for each of the 50 states will make a great craft book when I get them all done. In the meantime I have several published for sale on my Etsy store page at Dancing Paintbrush Co. This one is the making of the Missouri Farmhouse.

The Lute Player Collage, Page for Alphabet Book
It seems like it took forever. I've been working on this Lute Player page for months. It never seemed to be finished because I kept seeing things that I just didn't like or that looked like they could be improved. The background needed something; her face wasn't shaped right; her hands bothered me; and on and on. Finally I think it is ready and here is the video to prove it. Enjoy.

Charcoal Drawing Tutorial of a Young Boy
Each time I upload one of these tutorials I get excited, like teaching a baby how to walk. I'm still new at this YouTube channel stuff but I'm learning more everyday. This little guy is my latest upload and my latest drawing for my 100 days of drawing children's faces challenge. I'm pretty happy with it.

Boy of the Red Twilight Collage tutorial
I taped this video before I created the art extender for my tripod so I could film from directly above. The angle was unavoidable but the placing of the hair on the dog and fur on the parka is cool. Worth watching.

Charcoal Drawing Tutorial of My Daughter
I had to fix this one at the end. It's really difficult to erase charcoal even with a kneaded gum eraser. But I realized at the end the eyes were too small and the ear was too far forward. Here is my drawing and fix. I hope you enjoy it.

Neighbor Girl Posing in Charcoal
I have enjoyed this series of drawing children in charcoal. It hones my skills of drawing children and drawing in charcoal in general. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Profile of Noah for YouTube
I've been creating videos of my charcoal drawings lately. I wanted to start the YouTube channel back in January and worked toward that end but didn't really get started until July. Oh well. At least I'm doing what I wanted to do. Here is a link to the YouTube channel:
