Painting Watercolor Botanicals, Waxwing and Apples

These botanicals are so much fun to paint but I made the mistake of using student grade paper and it buckled a little.

My Neighbor’s Girl in Collage

Sometimes it means a lot to just work on art for art's sake.  To do a portrait because you want to and not because it is a commission or for a book.  I loved working on this portrait of the girl next door.

Painting Watercolor Botanicals, Chickadees and Grapes

Here is another speed painting in watercolor of a botanical with birds and fruit.  This time little chickadees and grapes.  What fun.  I love the play of the colors: bright yellow next to blues and purples.

Putting A Collage Background on This Collage Illustration

As I have finished the second Alphabet book and am working on the last edit, I noticed that I have quite a few illustrations for these books that would make fine stand-alone art pieces if I finished the background.  So this one is the illustration I did for Kiigbo Kiigba with a jungle background.  I really like how it turned out.  I think I will enter it in the next art show and see if anyone else likes it.
